For those who celebrate Christmas (either religiously or secularly) have a Merry Christmas!
For those who celebrate another holiday around now, Happy Holidays!
For Jews who already celebrated Chanukah/Thanksgivukkah, Happy Movie and Chinese Food Day!
And for those for whom this is just another day of the week:
The holiday season can be tough on people who feel isolated and alone, and/or who are going through a struggle, be it physical or emotional. I think many of us have been there at various times in our lives—and if we haven’t, or aren’t currently, may be at some point in the future. I like to think that regardless of if we identify with a faith or not, this time of year can serve as a small reminder that we really are all in this together. If you’re miserable, try to reach out to someone in a small way. And if you’re not, try to reach out to someone who is miserable, in some small way. Every one of us has the ability to reach out to someone and remind them—and ourselves—that life can be rich and full.
So I wish all of us a Happy Reach Out Wednesday. And may one day, every day be Reach Out Wednesday.
